  1. Scope
    Transit Mobile App
    CHSOFT AG
    Freudenbergstrasse 142
    8044 Zürich
    Switzerland
  2. Reason for data collection, storage and/or processing

The Transit Mobile App is used to control the execution of transport orders of a specific transport service provider by its drivers. All planning and execution activities regarding the transport orders are stored in the central database of the respective transport service provider. The transport service provider provides the access authorizations with which the Transit Mobile App user connects to the transport service provider's system.

The Transit Mobile App is used to transmit the transport orders assigned to the driver in the form of tours, including time specifications. The driver works through the tour transmitted to him in sequence and reports back the work progress, the signature of the consignee or any complaints using the Transit Mobile App. All this reported back data is stored in the context of the planned tour on the central transit database of the transport service provider.

All the data stored in this way is used exclusively for the provision of services by the transport service provider:

    • To be able to react quickly in case of unplanned delays
    • To precisely forecast the expected arrival times and to indicate them to the consignee
    • To prove the correctness of the delivery in terms of quality and punctuality
    • To record any complaints
    • To provide the client with appropriate delivery data such as the recipient's signature with the date of receipt
    • For analysis purposes in order to improve future disposition or execution.

  3. Which personal data are used ?

Only data related to the provision of the transport service is collected and transferred to the central transit database of the service provider.

In particular, Transit Mobile App does not use or report back or read the following general data of the mobile working device in any way: Contact data, IP address, Mac addresses, SIM card number, General media data such as photos, etc., Health data, Fingerprints.

    1. Login data of the Transit Mobile App

The name of the user is not necessary. The login data is provided by the transportation service provider. The login is a pseudonym for a driver or a vehicle. The app can be downloaded from Google Play Store for free.

    2. Data collected manually by the Transit Mobile App user

Most of the feedbacks are manually triggered by the Transit Mobile App user. The feedbacks are all related to the execution of the transportation service and are transmitted to the central transit database of the transportation service provider and stored there in the context of the transportation order.

The Transit Mobile App has no access to the general media data, only the explicit media data created by the special functions of the Transit Mobile App, such as photos, are transmitted to the transit database.

The Transit log file is stored locally on the mobile workstation. It contains important information about the course of the program, which can be evaluated for problem analysis in the event of a problem. This logfile must be transmitted to CHSOFT AG by the user of the Transit Mobile App by pressing a key, if required. The log file contains exactly the same data that would be transmitted manually or automatically during normal operation.

    3. Data that are collected automatically

Device data for problem analysis purposes: To improve the app and analyze errors, transport service provider/user (login pseudonym), login date, app version, OS version and device model are collected.

Error analysis and quality assurance: Via Microsoft App Center with "Crashreports" for error analysis and "Analytics user statistics" for quality assurance.

Location data fpr geofencing: This requires the use of location tracking in the background. The idea here is that the driver does not manually define the arrival and departure times at the loading and unloading addresses specified in the transport order, but that these are determined automatically.

Location data for periodic location transmission for the "active tour":
This requires the use of location determination in the background. The location transmission takes place in periodic time intervals only for the "active tour". The respective locations (coordinates and time) are transmitted and stored in the transit database of the transport service provider for the vehicle belonging to the tour. To put a tour into the "active state" the driver has to activate it manually with an activation function or the driver makes a manual feedback on this tour, which has the same effect and activates the tour as well. A freshly transmitted tour is always deactivated. Whether a tour is in the active state is clearly visible to the driver. If a tour is completed, i.e. all required feedback has been provided, then the tour is automatically deactivated and thus no more location transmissions are made. The driver can also deactivate a tour manually at any time. If there are several tours for execution on the Transit Mobile app at the same time, then at most one of the tours can be in the active state. If the driver activates another tour, using the activation function or through a feedback message, then the previously active tour is automatically deactivated. If the Transit App is switched off, then no more coordinates are transmitted.

  4. How long the data is stored

The data will be deleted on the mobile device no later than 7 days after the transport. Then this data and all related data on the mobile device will be automatically deleted.

The data reported back to the central transit database of the transport service provider remains stored. The duration is determined by the transport service provider, which is usually based on the statutory retention requirements.

A log file transmitted by a Transit Mobile App user is automatically deleted after 7 days.

If the Transit Mobile App is no longer used for 30 days, then the device data stored at CHSOFT AG is automatically deleted.

  5. What rights do you have to your data ?

Inspection and deletion rights regarding the device data stored by CHSOFT AG can be requested by email at any time.

Rights of inspection, objection or deletion concerning the stored feedbacks regarding the transport orders are to be agreed upon directly with the respective transport service provider.CHSOFT AG has neither the right to access nor the right to interfere with the transit database operated by the transport service provider.

  6. How we protect your data

To protect the security of your data during transmission, we use state-of-the-art TLS encryption over HTTPS.
